Our Success Stories: HADRON
- On 4 September 2025
Who is HADRON?
HADRON is a private holding founded in 2018 to reorganize the former Rubinetterie Utensilerie Bonomi. At its core lies Bonomi Industries, a family-owned company operating in the industrial valves sector for over 70 years. Major producers handling gas, water, air, oil, and industrial fluids across a wide range of industrial and residential sectors rely on Bonomi’s products to achieve significant improvements. Bonomi is highly regarded for providing effective solutions to OEM manufacturers’ challenges, ensuring on-time deliveries, and offering impeccable products that safeguard both People and the Planet.
The production hub is located in Mazzano (Brescia, Italy), with global distribution supported by two subsidiaries based in the USA and Japan.
Starting Point
HADRON operated on SAP ERP 6.0 with EHP8 and around 200 users distributed between Italy and the USA. The system, originally implemented in 2012, included extensive customizations in the logistics and manufacturing areas.
Objectives and Requirements
HADRON decided to upgrade to the new SAP release by moving to S/4HANA (2023 release), significantly modernizing its application landscape to leverage the new functional opportunities of the latest technology and to respond more effectively to market demands.
The main project objectives were:
- Converting the current SAP ECC system to S/4HANA (2023 release) without disrupting business operations.
- Preserving previous business process investments through a “Brownfield” approach, especially in logistics and manufacturing, which represent a competitive advantage for the company.
- Introducing new standard SAP functionalities provided by the S/4HANA release.
The Project
The migration project to S/4HANA can be summarized through the following transformation scheme of HADRON’s SAP application landscape, structured over four conversion cycles.

Key project figures:
- Duration of main phases:
- SBX Conversion: 3 weeks
- Development System Conversion: 2 weeks
- Production System Conversion: 2 days
- PL3 Consultants involved: 8
- Production System Downtime: 8 hours
- Cut-over Plan: 144 steps executed with no deviations and within the planned schedule
- Post Go-Live Support: 2 months
Results
The project was completed on schedule, fully aligned with the initial project plan, thanks to the strong collaboration between the HADRON team and the PL3 team.
The shared approach, combined with the experience and responsiveness of the team, made it possible to manage the unforeseen challenges that inevitably arise during the post go-live phase. The commitment during this stage ensured proper prioritization of incidents and prevented any disruption in production processes (packaging and/or deliveries) or customer services.
Why PL3?
“The project successfully achieved its objectives despite the complexity of our installation. As highlighted by the final project survey, we highly valued the quality of PL3’s support as well as their professionalism and collaboration with our team. This project allowed us to replace the company’s engine without disruption or downtime, paving the way for a new phase of innovation within the organization.”
